<article><hdr>Airborne shot of Chase YC-122</hdr><body>
<hi style=afpcap>The Chase Aircraft Company converted one of its YG-18A cargo gliders into the prototype YC-122 with the fitment of two Pratt and Whitney R-2000-11 engines. Two YC-122As were ordered in 1948, with the second being upgraded to YC-122B standard with uprated engines. A service trial batch of nine YC-122Cs was ordered for Tactical Air Command in 1949.</hi>
